Cultivating Self Awareness - 10/15/22

What does cultivating self awareness mean?

Cultivating self awareness means being aware of yourself and seeing yourself clearly through your own reflection. More you learn yourself you become more aware of your emotions and emotional state, it can positively affect your thoughts and behaviors in any situation.

On October 15th we discussed how important it is to have self awareness. It can make us more proactive, boost our own acceptance, and encourage self development. It also helps us to see things from the perspective of others, practice self control, and work creatively. It will help ground yourself in the moment, evaluate yourself and the situation, and help you make good choices.

We as a group acknowledged our internal state by checking in with ourselves within the moment and being able to identify how we feel with our emotions.

Practicing

Being able to practice self awareness is so important and how to identify how you feel and think about yourself. By doing so you learn to create a space within you that sets you free from the impact of your thoughts and feelings. You start to live your life more at ease and allow whatever is meant for you to come to you. Instead of pushing and forcing how you think things should be.

Ask The People You Love

It is so important to know ourselves from the inside but external feedback helps too. Asking someone you love what they think about you and see what surprises you. Carefully consider what they say and think about it when you self reflect. At the end of the day it's your self beliefs and feelings that matter most but you will be surprised what your close friends and family might say.

Remember: It takes time and energy to cultivate self awareness and is a lifelong journey. The more you know yourself you increase your self esteem, create better relationships, improve your overall wellbeing, and my favorite increase self-confidence.
