Fear of Being Alone

Most people enjoy being alone like myself HAHA I find it so relaxing and at peace being in my own company.

Sometimes others dread it, even if it’s for a short period of time. It brings a sense of extreme isolation. Which may result in feeling ignored, unloved, and unsatisfied. If so, you are not alone. This can result to low self esteem which could lack self-love. We become uncomfortable with being alone because we don’t want to spend the time with ourselves. It will result in not liking who you are, or may need incitement to avoid thoughts or feelings.

Remember: You cannot love somebody else, until you love yourself first.

Facing Your Fears

Focus on Yourself

Build and develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Prioritizing your own needs and desires rather than other people. Learn to make time for yourself such as hobbies and things you love doing. The more self love you put into yourself the better relationship you will have with yourself.

Letting Go of the Past

Fear of being alone always begins with our past experiences. By overcoming fear, we must not live in the past. Remember, your pass is not your future. Unless you choose to stay in the past. Shifting your focus on the present in learning to appreciate what you do have and you will notice a change in your mindset.

Listening to Your Doubts

When you are alone by yourself is there a judgment that haunts you? Think about certain messages you give yourself while being alone. When you come to realize your doubts you will understand the reasonings on why you don’t like being alone.

Journal Exercise

Take a moment and ask yourself, “Am I capable of creating my own happiness?” If your answer is yes then do it. Push yourself to think, “What can others do for me that I am unable to do alone!” Consider what being alone creates for you.
